DEPUTY DIRECTOR: WOODLANDS AND INDIGENOUS FOREST MANAGEMENT REF NO: FOM04/2022

REQUIREMENTS :

Applicants have to be in possession of a National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree
in Forestry / Environmental Science/ Management or equal qualification
within associated discipline with and 3-5 years applicable ride in associated field.
Extensive information in business forestry. The potential to interpret and apply
related law and policies, which includes National Forestry Act, National Veld
and Forest Fire Act, NEMA, NEMBA, Public Service Act, PFMA and Labour
Relations Act. Knowledge of challenge management. Skills: Planning and
Organising skills, Policy improvement and analysis, Leadership skills,
Facilitation and Negotiation skills, top notch verbal exchange (verbal,
presentation and record writing), hassle fixing skills. The incumbent should be
able to work independently and successfully below pressure. The candidate must
have a legitimate driver’s license and inclined to travel.

DUTIES :

The profitable incumbent will control and advance policies, norms, standards,
tools, and approaches for sustainable administration of indigenous forests and
woodlands. Develop and grant woodland administration guidelines, norms, best
practice and help to the WIFM areas (Eastern Cape). Develop and
review minimal criteria, indicators, and requirements for sustainable
management of indigenous forests and woodlands. Manage conservation
planning and compliance with countrywide and global biodiversity
Management frameworks. Identify precedence forests for safety and
rehabilitation. Determine relative conservation and socio-economic values of
forest patches as nicely as threats. Ensure Ecological Forest monitoring.
Conduct countrywide Principle, Criteria, Indicators and Standards (PCI&S) audits.
Ensure Integrated Environment layout for indigenous woodland and assets of the
Sub directorate (Physical, Human & Financial) Ensure that web site inspection is
